The Ezra Worship Initiative is a 10-week seminary-based internship program raising up a new generation of worship leaders to serve the church through strong biblical theology, excellent leadership, practical audio and sound tech training, and developing musicianship. The Initiative is also a songwriting collective for young writers launching a powerful new stream of modern congregational music and resources that blend the best of historical worship with modern musical expressions.
Ezra was a biblical scribe, priest, and civil authority in Israel who served God both in the marketplace and by leading God's people in worship. Today's churches need worship leaders like Ezra - knowledgeable, trained, trustworthy, and bi-vocational. Our commitment is to train college students to be informed by all of Scripture, to combine the worship of the past with new expressions of our day, and to mentor them in the context of a relational Christian community.
