Multiple award winning singer/ songwriter, Sarah Téibo has been pushing the boundaries since her entry into the UK Gospel scene late 2015 with her debut single ‘Steal my Joy’ followed by her debut album ‘Walk with Me’ which earned her a MOBO nomination and multiple awards including the prestigious Premier Gospel Awards’ ‘Album of the Year’. Her sophomore album ‘Keep Walking’ also saw her top the Official Charts, making her the first female independent Gospel artist to do so. Sarah made headlines in the run-up to the release of her third studio album, when the single ‘Victory’ - from the new project - peaked at Number 1 in the UK Chris-tian Chart.
Currently one of the UK’s top female gospel music artists and worship leaders, Sarah has trav-elled extensively within the UK, Europe, Africa and Australia leading worship and working with other singers including Grammy Award winning Gospel singer Fred Hammond who featured on her second album ‘Keep Walking’, Philippa Hannah, Noel Robinson, Tim Godfrey, Charles Jen-kins, and more recently Lou Fellingham and MOBO award winning singer Volney Morgan who both feature on the new album ‘Restored’.
British-born of Nigerian descent, Sarah who is no stranger to writing and singing worship songs started leading worship in her early teens and currently serves as a worship leader at Kings Church, London. ‘Restored’, the new worship album released in July 2021 features songs that show a side of Sarah not often seen on her previous projects, revealing her authentic heart for worship and her passion for ushering others into God’s presence through worship.
Recorded during the Covid pandemic, a time when so many lost so much, Sarah’s third studio album ‘Restored’ is filled with songs of hope, healing and restoration and this message is con-veyed so eloquently in the soft, stripped back, soul-stirring ballad she performs on the title track. ‘Secure’ the lead single on the project features MOBO award winning singer Volney Mor-gan and is a reminder of the peace and safety we find in the shadow of God's wings. ‘God Alone’ and ‘Glorious King’ which are odes to God’s sovereignty over all things seen and unseen, show Sarah’s skilful songwriting abilities and her unique gift of transporting listeners into an immer-sive worship experience. ’Spirit Come’ is a beautifully crafted prayer of supplication and a cry for an outpouring of God’s spirit to bring healing to our world. Ever true to her roots, Sarah brings it home with the Afrobeats song ‘Belongs to You’ which is a soothing blend of Afrobeats & Gospel, a song of thanksgiving and praise to our promise-keeping God.
“Recording this album in spite of the unprecedented constraints and challenges of 2020 has been one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. Through the creative process, God used the songs - even in their formative stages - to heal me and restore me spiritually and par-ticularly mentally. I feel truly blessed to have been gifted with these songs and to have been touched by them first-hand. It is my hope that the songs on the album ‘Restored’ would help people make deeper connections with God and would serve as useful resources in their per-sonal and corporate worship experiences.” says Sarah who has worked to make these songs available not only on all digital music stores, but also on platforms like Multitracks, where wor-ship leaders and choirs can access them for use as worship resources and in their meetings.
Sarah is married with two daughters and attends Kings Church London - a member of the New Frontiers family of churches - where in addition to leading worship, she serves in the Children’s Work.
